For a romantic setting, a chandelier allows the light to play on and through the crystal pendants. There are many modern chandeliers that go well with modern d?cor, as the forms change with the times. Be sure chandeliers are hung so that you won’t run into them when you walk across the room.
Wall mounted light fixtures are convenient. Since there is no floor stand, they don’t have to be moved when cleaning the floor, and they allow furniture to be place underneath them, saving floor space. The shades on wall mounted lights can be angled to illuminate space in particular directions, using the wall as a diffuser to create a soft glow.
Free standing lamps can be sculptures in their own right. Modern designs incorporate d?cor elements to match any taste. An example would be a lamp shade that has metallic figures sculpted to stand on the upper rim of the lamp. The light then casts shadows of the figures on the walls, like a painting on a large canvas.
